John Benjamins Publishing Company is an independent academic publisher in social sciences and humanities with its head office in Amsterdam.[1] Its North American office is in Philadelphia, United States[2]
It is especially noted for its publications in linguistics. The company was founded in the 1960s by spouses John and Claire Benjamins and is currently managed by their daughter Seline Benjamins. Electronic access to many of its books is provided via ebrary. As of 2007, John Benjamins publishes 45 academic journals and yearbooks, including International Journal of Corpus Linguistics, Language Problems and Language Planning and Studies in Language.
